So, life continues hothothot in the house without air conditioning. Yeah, we were here last year, we're here this year, we'll have one more summer here--yaargh--before we're gone. Life proceeds.

How'ver, it proceeds in an interesting direction. I am sitting here wearing a shirt last seen at the first of joeyfalconetti's Halloween bashes that I went to--back ( Read more... )

I keep hearing this from other sources too. It's been a cold year down here, however...

Yeah, well, you're only saying that 'cause it's winter.

How many greenhouse gases does Australia produce as a continent, anyway? You may not have summers as hot as we have in the Other Hemisphere.

Oh yes we do!

I came from a place where Summers were always dry and unbearable - Perth! One reason I moved to the Hunter Valley was that it's always green here, and winter (though mostly late Autumn and earl Spring) always has rain.

Okay, so think of Perth as Vegas, and where you are now is Oregon--but right now Oregon is sort of like Vegas, hot and dry and unbearable. ;)

Well, now, morality is taught, really...so they'd have to be raised into highly moral ways by...erm...Fundamentalist scientists, say, for the really CRUNCHY moral sets. And I don't think "Fundy" and "scientist" go very well together. ;)

Not necessarily--I used to get Shiseido, Obsession and Gaultier's perfume--whatever that one--in little teensy sample vials all the time. And all three of those were more expensive at the time than Cumming. It's never a bad thing to ask, if you can find it retailing in a store you can get to.

Damn, I miss not having a Nieman Marcus near us, I know they'd have it...

Far as the commercial--it's a Quicktime file. I've never been able to figure out how to save Quicktime-extension files. If anyone else knows, tell us!

ARGH! All the places that have it have it as 30-second samples! Save for one remix I found, a mashup between an Eels song and the Privateers number, and it's seven minutes of weirdness. :)

Argh argh argh...will keep looking.

I was never able to make the wanted poster thing work for me. :( May have something to do with my utter lack of cognitive functioning, cos the instructions seemed simple enough, but in the end there was always some error. Never mind--I quite liked yours. Piracy & subversion. Rock!

Yeah, here's the thing--you actually have to send the image to their server for the overlay. And that part happens in tiny little italicized print you just might be overlooking.

Okay, you've got your standard "Browse" field, right? Well, it ONLY takes links from YOUR OWN COMPUTER, so any image you have you have to toss up from home. I learned that one the hard way. Then once you've 'browsed', you hit "Send Image"--and right above the Browse field, there's a little status notification text line--if the image went in (it doesn't always), it will say Picture loaded successfully. If not, it'll say something like Could not acquire image or something.

THEN, after that, you punch in desired name, award, and what your crime was, and hit the last button. And presto, you have it.

But yeah--it's trickier than it looks. It's not just you.
