The Mormon involvement in this makes me think of the way they baptize people after death to "save" them. Thanks a lot, assholes, I don't want to go to your heaven, nor do I want your definition of marriage (not that I'm in danger of getting married or in fact having a functional relationship with a decent human being, but y'know).

Yeah, I find it particularly offensive in relation to Holocaust victims. But, as far as I'm personally concerned, I'm an atheist (yeah, yeah, get out the torches and pitchforks.) They can do whatever they damn want to me after my death and it won't matter. IMHO, the joke's on them.
Despite their failings I have had no issue with standard Mormonism up until this election. Now, I think both they and the Catholic church have a lot to answer for.

BWAH-HAH-HAH!
That was me. My own journal doesn't recognize me. Must be that admission of atheism... ;)

Hee! I can see your point. Still, I feel pretty firmly that other people's immortal souls (or lack thereof) are none of their damn business.

The Catholic church just kills me in all this because they were well on their way to being a far more liberal institution when we were little. But, nooo, JP2 and now Benedict and their reactionary BS just had to get elected.
