Anna caught The Golden Girls on tv one morning and now loves the show. Cross you fingers that she won't ask why they're always talking about sleeping with men. Anna's vocabulary is expanding and language acquisition can be a funny thing. The other day she wanted to say a nightly prayer for "people who were digesting, people in wheel chairs, and ( Read more... )

I didn't know you had a comfort zone. You're pretty forthcoming with whatever is on your mind, which is one of the things I admire most about you.

I'd love to know where the stilts comment came from, if you know. Rachel once asked me what a banana hammock was while we were in a restaurant. Loudly.

Why thank you! But there are things I don't share. Bathroom habits, etc.

I think she meant crutches. And as for the digesting, I think she meant dying. Not funny things, but a four year old can make them so without being offensive.

eh...not everything needs to be shared.

The crutches and digesting makes a great deal of sense. Isn't it funny though, that if you were one of those moms that didn't really listen to their kids, you might never have made that connection?

Anna sounds as if she's very pragmatic about things. What a sensible child. I think inusaga's challenge makes the most sense. I went back and read a couple of your entries and particularly in light of the plagiarism question you had, you could gain considerable benefit from trying it.

I'm a reader, not a writer, so I have no insights to share, but being able to see through the eyes of a child does make you see some things as if they were brand-new. That's a nice gift to have.

Yep, the maturity level of a four year old, that's me. I always feel inspired when I go to the movies, funny thing. But things are hectic as always and by the time I can sit down to write my window of inspiration (perversely) disappears into the desire to do nothing. Like the guy from Office Space. Even so, I feel dissatisfied when I don't have a creative outlet. what's yours, btw? (besides grading essays, haha)

Get a notebook and write it out by hand. It helped me.

My standard challenge for everyone doing this meme is find five fics you otherwise enjoyed, but name one glaring flaw that you found in each.

The notebook - yes! I need to get it back out and try to get a few words in. If I don't keep the thing out, I forget about it.

That's a good one - and fun.
