Introducing to You: The Kewl Krew

My good friend (as well as former co-worker) and I joined forces to start a design collaboration team.

We're The Kewl Krew, and our (temp) site is now live.We've got a few freelance projects lined up in the queue already, including something real big -- which I cannot disclose the details just yet. But it's gonna be good, that much I can say

Believe it or not, my friend was the one who suggested going with the lime/yellow-green! I was actually thinking of a hot electro-pink originally! But the green looks nice, too, so we're sticking with it!

Glad you asked!

"The Kewl Krew" was the name of our team at last year's LA AIDS Walk. My friend Mana, who you met before, was the one who came up with the name originally.

Since then, we've just associated ourselves and our close circle of friends with that title -- sort of how JAC became a group name existing outside of its original UCLA basis. Plus, we really love to dance; and by inspiration of ABDC, the "krew" part of the name felt almost too appropriate.

It pretty much just took off from that point on. Mana, who's been doing freelance design work on the side for a few years now, has a rather stable client base. She got a bunch of project requests recently that she wasn't going to be able to handle on her own; and so asked if I wanted to collab with her to take on some of the work. I agreed, and then we got to thinking about giving ourselves a name for this whole venture. That's where "The Kewl Krew" came in -- it was only natural. :)
