What fresh hell is this?

The pediatrician just called and my daughter had blood in her urine again. When he looked back in her records, he realized there had been another instance of blood in her urine at her old doctor's, so this is time #3 that they've caught it. So now he's thinking something is, in fact, going on with either the kidneys or bladder or something, ( Read more... )

Trying not to worry too much. Easier said than done, right?

She doesn't take bubble baths, and in fact has been taking showers about half the time lately. We use Dove sensitive skin soap. So I don't know. Maybe the doctors will have other suggestions? I appreciate yours!

Hmmm. Just the frequent urination by itself is something they really need to look at, much less the blood. It does sound like she might have a kidney that's been compromised in some way...maybe a bad infection or some other thing. They'll find the problem; don't worry.

On a completely unrelated not, have you been watching Fringe? I thought you had said in one of you past entries that you were going to give it a try. I've been sucked in ;)

Yeah, we watched the pilot. It was okay, for a tv show. I posted a little review on my thoughts. I thought the acting was pretty bad, and I ended up feeling the way I always do when I attempt to watch tv - that they dumb it down to the lowest common denominator. I just feel like they must think I'm completely dim-witted. I guess that's just par for the course with tv shows now and that's why I can't get into television, really. Oh well. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! At least Josh Jackson is nice to look at. :)

That poor little girl has already been through a lifetime of health issues. I can't imagine how stressful this is for you and your husband.

I'm sending good thoughts your way that this is something easily cleared up with an antibiotic.

More stressful for me, I think, as I am a big old ball of stress on a good day :) But we should have a definitive idea of what's going on by Friday.
