Wait, you mean that's not how you start a paper? :) Just about every paper I've written in the last year has started out like that, and then a few hours of me staring at the empty file before my brain starts to work.

Usually, I save it and then go and do everything else that I'm really not supposed to do, like reading my flist, reading fic, watching vids...

It's quite amazing that the damn things ever get finished.
