Blues Traveller did their free show in Elgin tonight. dragonjaze and I went, found a nice cool place to stand in the throngs of bopping white people, and enjoyed the music a hell of a lot

two years ago at lolla they were a closing act at the same time as the chili peppers. there were probably 100 people (including me) watching their set, and they rocked that shit right to the ground. fucking awesome show.
today they would have had very nearly standing room only crowds since they were not a closing act, and grant park was PACKED by 3pm, and by the time they took the stage the clouds had rolled in and the temperature dropped which made things really nice. (and the smaller acts finally stopped bitching about the heat) *shrug* john popper doesn't impress me as a human being, but when the blues travellers choose to rock, they can rock mightily.
