I've been seeing a bunch of talking across my friends list in regards to the new list that came out from the MST's office of all the custom devotions and bloodlines that are in play. I figured I would weigh in on the issue

I whole heartedly agree from a player standpoint I can say that custom stuff is cool and all but the keeping it a secret I honestly feel is bullshit. most players with bloodline pc's are playing from the book bloodlines so all of their secrets are flapping in the wind. it should be an equal playing field. I understand that some players have put in a hell of a lot of work into these bloodlines and I respect that but you get rewarded for that by being special and having custom stuff that you don't have to give other players, you don't get to hide it behind shadows in order to be able to cheat with it. If in the case of my bloodline someone wanted to be a meta gamer and tell the sect xiao they had found an apostate and have me killed all of the knowledge is there for them to use but it is still metagaming and I would call them on it. Just like I would encourage any of the players who were just outed to do.
Whether it's true or not, there is a perception that certain people get things approved easier, or with more broken mechanics. Having a list of everything approved gives everyone a point of reference.
Even the bloodline info is nice to have posted, although I understand some of the frustration. Personally, I feel part of a good story is being able to enjoy the entire story. Keeping Bloodline stuff a secret is the equiviant of keeping a few chapters to yourself because you fear the other chaters will change if people see it.
