Question for the Artists!

I got a set of copic markers from my parents for Christmas and I'm super excited to give them a whirl ... but I've never really used markers! Not with any success. So I was curious if any of you had any tips and pointers, or know of any tutorials you can link me to! ^_^

Looks like it is a but similar to water coloring. Very cool. :)
