Apparently there's a group of people going around and reporting stuff to the ff.net mods and who are being kind of dicks about it. In fairness, the stuff is breaking ff.net TOS, but the people reporting the fics are leaving nasty reviews and harassing some of those people.

But other than that, I think it's more that people are butthurt because it's taking away their precious porn. XD

I haven't even looked at ff.net in years. I think I took off my stupidest stories so they would no longer be associated with my user name. I remember when they banned NC-17 content; it was about a decade ago. I'm pretty sure it was banned because of all the Harry Potter fics that had adult content involving minors (slash and het alike).

Well, it seems that people had been posting NC-17 stuff there anyway, because the mods have been slack about taking care of reported fic and such. So people were just posting their porn there anyway. But now people are getting all mad because their porn is being taken down. I find it kind of humorous. XD I hardly go over there as it is, so it's not like it affects me.

Well, if it wasn't being handled by admin/mod, I really can't blame people for seeing what they can get away with. Limit testing is a part of life, and if the user base for ff.net is the same age it was when I used to go there, I'm not surprised. That being said, can't be too mad for being caught breaking the rules and then having your work deleted. Any writer worth anything should be bright enough to know that housing your work in only one place without a back-up is not the best decision. Or you know, following the rules and finding a community that is appropriate to post things that don't follow another's ToS.

Yeah, that's pretty much my feelings on the whole thing. Just because you've been able to slide by the rules this long, doesn't mean that you really have a right to be angry when you get caught. And it is pretty dumb if you don't back up your writing somewhere else or on your PC or whatever. I think that's what amuses me the most. XD Because yeah, ff.net is probably about the same as what you remember it to be, haha. XD If the rules don't allow you post whatever it is you want to post there, then you find somewhere else that can, end of story.

You're very welcome! I hope that they can help you out! If they can't, then I really don't know who else. :o

But yeah, I quite like AO3 if only for the fact that they pretty much allow everything on there. :3
