Today on the way to work i saw a cat in the road. A non-moving lump. And at first i felt as if i had fallen into a choose-your-own-adventure book. "You see a lump in the road. What do you do? A) Avoid it and keep on driving. B) Run over it again. C) Stop and see what you can do." C. "The non-moving lump is a very badly injured or dead cat

i am sorry. you did a very difficult, very good thing, and it hurt a lot. at least no one else ran over her. you took care of her as much as she could be taken care of.

Thank you. Poor girl; i really hope that her last awareness was of being gently pet and talked to. *sigh* I get so torn up over animals.
