I've learned so much about various sorts of alternative treatments over the years when I didn't have insurance, that even when we do have it, it still tends to be for critical care. Vitamins, herbs, yoga, meditation, homeopathy and home remedies, affirmations a la Louise Hay, diet changes. So many things to explore and learn. Whew its exhausting sometimes, but for the most part, I'm lucky and have been able to deal. I have another friend who has migraines, her docs at first diagnosed ummm epstien barr I think ... now its something terribly generic like daily headache syndrome. Hehe. Either way, the best they can find to do is drug her up so when she's in pain she doesn't care. I ache for you both.
It's definitely worth looking into, especially with the help of someone who's very experienced with it. I don't like the thought of living my life being over-medicated, especially when the time comes when I want to have children and I have to decide what needs to be dropped cold turkey.
