Promises

When I was a kid, I took promises very seriously. Well, I still do, but as a kid, it was traumatic for a promise to be broken. I remember solemnly promising never to drink and never to do drugs.

Of course, at the time, the only thing I knew about drugs were the horror stories they told us in those drug-free programs at school and the sip of wine

Mathieu made similar promises to himself as a child. He hasn't yet had alcohol (on purpose), but has had it in cooking and I think has decided that that's okay. He still doesn't want to drink alcohol though. He accidentally had a huge swig of wine (he thought it was water) when he was younger and he was sick afterwards. I tried to convince him that he should drink alcohol for me because I couldn't when pregnant.
