1) Hand
It was a cold winter day and the two were walking down an empty street. Jin stole a glance over to the younger man and grinned, taking the other’s hand in his own.
Kame’s eyes widened, “Jin, not here!”
He pouted, “Why not? There’s no one around…”
“Just because! Let go of my hand!”
Jin stopped walking and looked over seriously, “…what if I actually do?”
The other blinked in surprise before tightening his own grip on the elder’s hand, muttering, “…like you would…idiot …”
With a smile, he continued walking down the street, the other’s hand clasped in his.

2) Whine
Ryo walked into the room with a happy grin on his face, “Hello freaks and geek.”
Tegoshi gave a whine.
He sighed, “And Tegoshi.”
Pi blew him a kiss, “And Pi.”
Tegoshi stared at him then turned to Massu, “And Massu.”
The younger singer turned to the food in front of said singer, “And Massu’s gyoza.”
Then Tegoshi turned to Koyama, he frowned, “And Koyama.”
Shige cleared his throat and Ryo looked over and shook his head, “No Shige, you’re the geek.”
Pi smiled reassuringly, “don’t worry about it. It’s Ryo-chan’s way of expressing his member-ai.”
The younger man pouted.

3) Notice
Ryo frowned and walked into the room, “Pi, what is this?”
The other blinked innocently, “What’s what?”
“This notice…it’s a ransom letter for Massu’s gyoza.”
Yamapi didn’t appear fazed, “Massu’s gyoza were kidnapped? Why?”
“…the person demanded that I ‘spend more time with Yamashita Tomohisa’. Pi…”
“Yes?”
“This is Shige’s handwriting.”
The younger man looked up hopefully, “maybe Shige wanted you to spend more time with me.”
“Tomohisa…”
“Fine…I asked him write it…”
“I didn’t think you’d be the jealous type.”
Pi grinned, “Only when it comes to you.”
“So where are Massu’s gyoza now?”
“…in my stomach.”

4) Back
Kame stood there with a frown on his face as he watched the familiar scene before him.
Jin’s back.
He’d always been behind the other, and no matter how fast he ran, he was never able to catch up. After years and years of running, he finally ran out of breath. So he stood there, finally deciding to give up.
Then much to his surprise, Jin stopped walking and turned around with a smile, extending his hand, he called out gently, “Hurry up Kame, we’re in this together aren’t we?”
He smiled, suddenly; the other didn’t seem so far anymore.

5) Rain
It was raining again.
As much as he liked the rain, he was feeling particularly depressed that day. Staring out the window, he didn’t notice the person behind him until a voice asking him softly, “What’s wrong, Ryo-chan?”
“Pi, why’s the sun crying?”
He could feel the other smile beside him, “that’s because the sun doesn’t have anyone to hug when it’s sad.”
“Oh…,” he looked over, “do you think I can have a hug?”
Almost immediately, there were arms around his waist, “Ryo-chan, you can have all the hugs you want as long as they’re from me.”
Ryo smiled.

6) Time
Staring at the clock as it loudly ticked the seconds away, time seemed to pass by excruciatingly slow. A minute later, he checked his watch to see whether or not it matched the clock’s time.
It did.
Kame sighed and drummed his fingers against his leg while he stood there in the airport, waiting.
Time always passed by painfully slow whenever Jin wasn’t around. For awhile, he thought time had actually stopped since everything around him appeared motionless for a second.
Then he heard a “Kame!” and looked over with a happy grin.
The clock began ticking loudly again.

7) Matter
“It doesn’t matter!”
“What do you mean it doesn’t matter!?”
“You look fine!”
“I look like an inflated elephant-no, an inflated whale!”
“You look perfect so stop staring at the mirror!”
“I’m fat!”
“No you’re not!”
“But-”
Exasperated, he walked over and stood beside the other, “it’s for your job right? After this, you’ll go back to being your skinny self.”
“…”
He gave a stupid grin and pointed at the mirror, “But I like it this way. Look, we match! Now it’s not Fat Jin anymore, it’s Fat AkaKame!”
Kame gave a yell and ran out of the room.

8) Disagreement
One thing he really liked about Pi was that whenever they had a disagreement, the other being at fault of course, the younger singer knew just what to do. He’d end up going home to a warm hug, a homemade meal full of his favorite dishes and a nice little card by his plate saying
“Love you! Forgive me?”
And he had never been able to say no.

9) Daybreak
He groaned, it was too early for a phone call, “Hello…?”
“Kame?”
“Jin!? Do you know what time it is?”
“Not really, but I want to tell you something.”
“Hm?”
“I like you.”
“…huh?”
“I like-like you.”
“Why couldn’t you wait till later…?”
“Do you like-like me too?”
“…yes…”
“Does that mean you’ll go out with me?”
“Yea, I’ll go out with you…”
“Seriously!? Come outside!”
“What?”
“I’m outside, hurry or you’ll miss it!”
He did as he was instructed, “What is it?”
Jin grinned and took his hand, pointing at the daybreak, “Look! It’s the beginning of our forever!”

10) Sensitivity
Tegoshi blinked and leaned over, “Yamashita-kun…why are Ryo-tan, Massu and Kei-chan so sensitive? They’re always the first to start crying…”
Pi smiled, “They can cry that easily because they our shoulders to cry on.”
“So Ryo-tan cries because he has your shoulder to cry on?”
He nodded, “Yea, that, and he wouldn’t be Ryo-chan if he didn’t cry that easily, now would he? That’d be like Massu not liking food.”
Suddenly he understood and smiled, “it’s what Yamashita-kun likes about him, hm?”
Pi ruffled the other’s hair with a fond grin, “you’re getting smarter, aren’t you?”

11) Vacation
Kame sat there in the baby pool in the other boy’s front lawn, lazily scooping a spoon full of ice cream into his mouth, “Jin, what kind of vacation is this?”
Jin shrugged and glanced over, “you tell me, we’re here, under the sun, eating ice cream with no fans, media people or anything around. It’s just you and me. What kind of vacation do you think this is?”
Looking up in thought for a moment, the younger boy concluded with a happy smile directed to his best friend, “This is the best vacation ever. Just you and me.”

12) Town
Ryo looked back as he rode towards his new apartment in Tokyo. Osaka was becoming further and further away. He gave a wave to the window and muttered quietly to himself, “Goodbye town with all my family, friends and childhood memories…”
When the door opened, he stepped out into the station with a smile as he heard a familiar voice greet him, “Hello town where Pi is.”

13) Yesterday
He could hear Kame sighing, “Jin…why can’t we be like we used to?”
From the other side of the table, Jin shrugged impassively, “I guess it’s because I don’t love you like I did yesterday…”
The other drew in his breath sharply, disappointment and hurt laced in his voice, “…oh…”
“I don’t,” he looked over with a smiled, “because everyday, I find myself loving you more and more.”

14) Language
After screwing up another dance move, Jin swore loudly and began pacing around muttering English to himself, fast and probably grammatically incorrect. Kame looked over, “Calm down Jin, you just missed the turn there, you’ll get it if you slow it down a bit. There’s no need to get all worked up over it, you’ll get it next time.”
The elder looked over in surprise, “You understood that?”
Kame laughed, “Idiot, I’d understand you no matter what language you speak in.”

15) Aquatic
He walked over to see the other deep in thought, “Ueda? Is something wrong?”
The elder nodded offhandedly, “Fish…”
“Fish? Huh? What?”
“I’m thinking about getting fish…”
Jin blinked and looked over at Ueda, “Fish? Why?”
The other raised a brow, “Because I like aquatic creatures?”
“Oh…is that it? Aquatic creatures?” He got up and headed for a certain person’s door with a grin, “Ueda, you can have all the fish and aquatic things in the world but the turtles are mine.”

16) Understand
Ryo looked over at Pi, his more or less new friend and frowned. The younger boy caught his frown and walked over, “What’s wrong, Ryo-chan?”
“No one here understands me.”
“What do you mean? Are you going through a misunderstood teenager phase? I’ve had one before.”
He let out a laugh despite himself, “That’s not it. No one here understands Kansai-ben, it makes me lonely.”
The other smiled, “don’t worry, I understand you perfectly fine, and besides, I know a little Kansai-ben myself.”
He looked up skeptically, “Really?”
Pi nodded, “Yea! Like…Ryo-chan ga sukiyanen.”
Suddenly, he didn’t feel lonely anymore.

17) Custom
Kame frowned, “stop staring at all those girls…”
He blinked and looked over, “Huh? Why?”
The other frowned and crossed his arms, “What do you mean why? Because I’m right here and it’s very rude of you?”
Jin laughed, “Could it be that Kame’s jealous?”
The younger singer reddened and retorted hotly, “no I’m not!”
Grinning, he wrapped his arms around the other, “Don’t worry! This heart’s custom made for Kame and Kame alone!”

18) Tour
If there was something he didn’t like about tours, it was that everything was caught on tape and made into DVD. For some unknown reason, he always ended up forgetting and blurting things even when the camera was right there in his hands. Like that time at the airport…
And of course, Pi never let him forget it. The younger singer would grin and kiss him lightly, teasingly reminding him about how kissable his lips were.

19) Contrast
Jin furled his brows as he looked from the mirror to the person beside him. It made no sense. They contrasted in almost every way possible.
He was tallish, the other was shortish.
The other was all bones, he…well he wasn’t.
He was relatively rude, the other was relatively polite.
Sometimes he couldn’t help but wonder how they ended up getting along that well in the first place.
And then he’d remember,
Opposites attract.
With a smile, Jin looked over, “Kame, I think we were made for each other.”

20) Soft
During practice, he was brutally ignoring everyone’s complaints about being tired and the like. He crossed his arms, “Let’s do this one more time. The performance is in less than a week, I want to get this right.”
Pi put down the advertising drink he was drinking and suggested softly, “Ryo-chan, I think we’ve practiced enough for a day. Everyone’s tired, why don’t we continue tomorrow?”
Frowning, he paused before muttering grudgingly, “…fine…”
Everyone gasped quietly while Pi smiled.
He hated how soft he was when it came to the younger singer.

21) Space
Once he got back from America, there was suddenly a space between them that wasn’t there before. They both felt it but neither had the courage to do anything about it.
Finally, he couldn’t stand it anymore and took a step toward the other, literally. “Hey Kamenashi…” he tripped over a random cord and fell on the other, “Ohmygod please don’t tell me I crushed you!”
Then he heard Kame laughing, “Bakanishi, I’m still alive. Have you gotten stupider again?”
“Probably…sorry about that.”
“…it’s nice to have you back…Jin…”
Jin gave a sheepish grin.
The space shrunk a little.

22) Coloring
When he walked into the room, he found the other sprawled out on the floor with crayons by his side and a large piece of paper under his nose. He blinked curiously, “Pi?”
His friend didn’t look up but answered sweetly, “Yes, Ryo-chan?”
“What are you coloring?”
“A banner for Kanjani8.”
Ryo raised a brow, “why?”
The other continued coloring, “Because I felt like it?”
“You’re not even coloring it evenly, half of it’s yellow.”
Yamapi looked up and beamed, “that’s because I like the yellow ranger best!”

23) Approach
He frowned. He could hear his heart pounding in his heart as he sat in the waiting room with all the other boys. Glancing around, he wondered why he was dragged here instead of practice. Suddenly, one of the boys came up to him with a friendly smile on his face, “Hi! I’m Akanishi Jin, what’s yours?”
“Kamenashi Kazuya…”
“Kame, hm? Are you scared?”
He nodded.
“Great! I mean, I’m terrified too, so I guess we’re in this together, hm?”
Kame let out a smile, silently hoping that he’d get to work with the other if they both got in.

24) Advent
Tegoshi blinked and peered over the other’s shoulder, “Ryo-tan, what’s that?”
He looked over, “This? It’s an advent calendar. You know, for counting down the days till something.”
The younger singer frowned in confusion, “What is it for? Christmas isn’t for a long time.”
Ryo laughed and shook his head, “this isn’t for Christmas. This is for when Pi gets back from filming. Here,” he popped open one of the little boxes and offered the content to the younger singer, “chocolate? There’s only twelve left.”

25) Quantity
Kame pursed his lips, “Jin, I don’t get it.”
Jin paused mid-kiss and blinked, somewhat confused, “Is something wrong?”
“I don’t know…You could be out there getting all the girls and-or guys you wanted but instead, you’re here, hiding in NEWS’s change room with me and Masuda-kun’s gyoza…”
The elder gave a laugh and kissed the other’s pouting lips, “Kame, you’re adorable. Don’t you know? I prefer quality over quantity. And you’re as high quality as they come.”

“Kame, hm? Are you scared?”
He nodded.
“Great! I mean, I’m terrified too, so I guess we’re in this together, hm?”
Kame let out a smile, silently hoping that he’d get to work with the other if they both got in.

24) Advent
Tegoshi blinked and peered over the other’s shoulder, “Ryo-tan, what’s that?”
He looked over, “This? It’s an advent calendar. You know, for counting down the days till something.”
The younger singer frowned in confusion, “What is it for? Christmas isn’t for a long time.”
Ryo laughed and shook his head, “this isn’t for Christmas. This is for when Pi gets back from filming. Here,” he popped open one of the little boxes and offered the content to the younger singer, “chocolate? There’s only twelve left.”

Kame pursed his lips, “Jin, I don’t get it.”
Jin paused mid-kiss and blinked, somewhat confused, “Is something wrong?”
“I don’t know…You could be out there getting all the girls and-or guys you wanted but instead, you’re here, hiding in NEWS’s change room with me and Masuda-kun’s gyoza…”
The elder gave a laugh and kissed the other’s pouting lips, “Kame, you’re adorable. Don’t you know? I prefer quality over quantity. And you’re as high quality as they come.”
