Is anyone else as mystified over the popularity of Clint/Coulson as me? Coulson's cool and all, but in contrast with like, the entirety of fandom, I don't really find him interesting enough to crave fic of him. I think part of it is that, unlike most of the characters that are going to be in The Avengers, the two of them have actually met in canon. (When they're talking over the radio in Thor, but there are some scenes where they interact in the "Fury's Big Week" Avengers prelude comic that's set during the events of Thor.)

I hadn't thought of that comic - is it any good? I do feel like I should prepare for the movie XD

I liked it, personally. It basically tied together the events of Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, and Thor (since the three of them were supposed to be taking place concurrently) while giving some more behind-the-scenes glimpses at S.H.I.E.L.D. in the process. Plus it also helped show just where Captain America fits into the timeline as well.

Also? There's an absolutely adorable scene with Clint and Coulson, which I expect definitely helped make the pairing a little more popular.

It was boring enough that I was annoyed we paid to see it. Thor was much better.

It's just so WEIRD that fandom chooses to fixate in that ship from all availabe from the movie. Where's all the hot Steve/Tony/Pepper/Natasha? Or the Clint/Darcy? Or the Thor/Loki?

Like when that clip of Coulson calling Natasha started going around last week - all I could see on tumblr were people going 'omg Coulson is so wooooorried, oh poor woobie', and I guess they must have seen a different clip, because all I could see was Natasha being the bamfiest bamf ever in a way that made me all tingly. SIGH.
