Very interesting take on Jack's experience with Ma'chello's devices! Just a note - You might want to change your rating to PG-13, which I think would be entirely adequate. I almost didn't read the story because of the 'R' rating...

I guess I'm a little naive about kids these days. Will do. Thanks.

I really like this a lot. I like the slow reveal as to what's really happening and the peek inside Jack's head. And the cameraderie of Jack and Janet at the end.

Wow. It took me a few paragraphs to realize this was Legacy (maybe put a reference in your summary?), but superbly, creepily done!

I especially liked how you wove Jack's movements onscreen into his reactions to the hallucinations. All that sensory input... ::shivers::

I'd have to say, though, that Daniel wasn't being so much curious as much as very much himself - cataloging what he experienced, and wanting the comparison with Jack's. On the other hand, I do like the nod to Jack and Janet friendship - and I'd love to see your take on Janet's hallucinations, one day. :)

I decided to let the reader figure out the Legacy tag - mustn't let the reader be lazy. Lol!

Glad you thought it was creepy. It was bugging me to imagine what Jack could possibly have been seeing that made him react that way . . . especially when he told Carter that she looked awful. If unflappable Daniel was seeing mummies coming to life, then Jack . . . . Oh my!

I've thought about the Janet hallucination thing . . . maybe next time there is a Janet Alpha-Bits?

::grins:: Janet Alphabet Soup is next on my list. Not until April, probably, but keep your eyes open!

I liked the slow reveal that it was Machello's little beauties causing Jack's hallucinations. You weaved his inner thoughts around (what I assum are) his canon reactions. I also liked his acknowledgment of Daniel's ability to deal with the hallucinations for so long.

I think Jack was a harsh about Daniel's understandable need to hear what the others had experienced, but it was certainly in character for him to be so. And let's face it, the official debrief was not the smartest place for Daniel to ask. Perhaps he should join Jack and Janet for that Guinness.

I hope they also invite Sam - she really hates being left out and the curiosity would kill her. Besides, she'd just ask Daniel about it later. LOL

Yes, the reactions were from canon - I can't tell you how many times I re-watched that ep to get it right. Though, I did add the "Whoa!" at the end.

Ooooo...Jack and Janet moment! I love it.

You know, I never thought about what their hallucinations were. Very clever and very well done. Just perfect for Halloween week! :D
