It's opportunistic as well. Does the Texas GOP not realize that Memphis and other large cities on the Mississipi are flooding? What about the money for the tornado damage in Alabama. Quite frankly there are a LOT of natural disasters going around right now. It'll be Florida on fire any day now. Then Florida under water this Fall. (Quite frankly I'm growing nervous about the past three strangely mild hurricane seasons.) I wish Obama could pull money out of his ass, but there is a brutal truth to the whole slashing budgets business. Something that we like has to go. Don't budge on health care? Maybe the highways suffer. I wish it really could be blamed on one side or the other, but it's simply the economy, and none of this will be fixed until we crawl out.

Yep. All that too.

Except the thing is, the biggest reason we're having to do without 'the things we like' and having budget slashing is because of large corporations and employers either no longer employing in US or just generally dodging taxes and things. I really don't want to get into an argument about it all here, but no, if there was more equality in taxation and more of the rich and the CEO's and such were halfway responsible beings, there wouldn't need to be the cuts that are being made to infrastructure and everything else.

That they aren't is still though NOT proof that Obama hates TX or anything else stupid like that.

Then too, the GOP won't acknowledge that these disasters all across the US are related to global climate change. Gotta be in denial there, too.
