A flamboyant, self proclaimed gay, middle schooler is murdered, and of course the fingerpointing is going all over the damn place. A large chunk of it going towards any teachers or people who told him that if he WANTED to wear makeup and women's garments, he had just as much right to as any other guy had the right to wear a football jersey

I don't know for certain why adults excuse the bullies, but I have some ideas.

I think in a lot of cases, the adults in question used to be bullies themselves. And if they came down on that behavior, they'd be admitting that they did wrong in the past.
