It's just a question of what the software that generates the feed includes in it... I haven't actually read the RSS spec (though I probably should...), I just looked at a couple of other feeds and kind of followed their example. I basically just have three fields for each blog entry: "title", "link", and "description". Some feeds seem to include the full entry in the "description"; I decided to just strip all html and then take the first 40 words. (Except for my phone photos, which include html for a thumbnail of the photo, and then include the full caption, which is generally fewer than 40 words anyway.)

Only some RSS feeds do that. Do you know what makes the difference?
