I've been waiting for this, glad to see it finally posted. Lovely picture of the boys. So a cave bear - hopefully that doesn't go to Rodney's head - wait, nevermind, forgot who I was talkng about - of course it will.

Interesting little tidbit about the Norse beserkers - in my mycology (fungi) class, one of the theories is that the Norse ate a certain mushroom (Amanita muscaria) that was responsible for that behavior - they'd look for the reindeer going nuts to find it. The slightly disgusting fact that we also learned was that the chemical in the mushroom isn't readily broken down by the kidneys or liver, so the nobility got to eat the 'shrooms, the lower classes got to drink it later.

oh yay! You finally finished it! and it was so worth the wait!!! I love it! Yogi as a drunken bear and Rodney kicked his ass! WAY TO GO! and a centuries old GOD BEAR!?! WOOHOO! SO exciting! I so very much hope there will be more in this universe and much more you want to explore and tell us down the line. This is just the beginning right? (peers up at you hopefully) I had a great time with this story, please continue your great story-telling =)

Well that was absolutely spiffing, m'dear!

I'm so glad you got around to finishing this, and I hope that means you're doing okay in RL, too!

I did very much enjoy it - though I kept waiting for the other shoe to fall (read: hoping for whump). I will admit that there were a couple places where I thought it dragged a bit, though I do understand the desire to describe the mundane as well as the exciting (which is actually one of the great charms of your writing, because it makes the characters all the more real). So overall, I liked. :-) I'm especially glad that Rodney tussled with Yogi and won. :-D

Though truly, most of my enjoyment from this fic (well, this chapter, anyways) came from all the hints you gave for your planned sequels. Mainly,

I'm not gonna tell ya what Lorne has in his cocktail. Huh uh. That will be in, oh, story number six or seven. Perhaps even eight....

And Rodney isn't going to be your regular cursed vargyr, either. May take a year, but he's going to break the mold. Boy, is he gonna break the mold.

Yeah, in the 3rd story you get to meet John Nana Satan....

And, unfortunately, RL is still sucking toxic green boogers. The pain has come back (developed a resistance to my happy pills which screw with the glucose), work is hell, and I am so ready for vacation on the 15th - 5 days on the Oregon coast. But don't worry, the friend has informed me that while I'm not driving, I am to have the laptop plugged in and WILL be writing.

Sigh. Plus she's gonna make me eat my veggies. On vacation. Task mistress....
