We did "last a while". Two years of plot heavy game, in fact. ;)

Which is remarkable for everyone that's been there that whole time. But also in consideration that I've only been here since February, and a lot of other people just joined in the last couple of months and I know a handful of people who were going to app in the next week or so. It's. Not entirely the same in that perspective. I'm not trying to argue or say your point isn't valid, I'm just giving a different point of view.

I know the other point of view. But it is a very plot heavy game, and there's only so long it can go on for, and it's exhausting to keep up with and write for. And this has been a hard decision to make.

I love the Elegante and I always will, but it was never going to be a long term game. Anything with a solid, interactive plot won't be (unless it's written and modded by robots). All I'm saying is that it really did last a while. For a game we weren't sure was going to make a year, two years is awesome.

So yeah, sorry if I sound defensive. There's just no way we could keep everyone happy, no matter what decision we made, and today's been rough.

And believe me when I say I understand a mod's point of view as well. Especially with as many real life problems as you guys have been having, when I saw the announcement, I wasn't that surprised. Just. Sad that it's coming to an end.

No need to be sorry for that; trust me, I see both sides and I'm trying to mentally balance it out so I don't come across to harshly one way or the other.

Which, like I told Otana, I understand that. I'm not going to parrot off what I told her, so let me put it like this. When I joined Poly back in '07, it was only a year old and I was there for almost three years before I left last month and it doesn't look like it's ending any time soon despite the fact that it does have plot at its core. When I join a game, I enjoy a game plot, but I also look for longevity. If they come up with a new game in a few months, I'll definitely join it if we have anywhere near the same playerbase we have now (which yeah we probably will). I'm not trying to discredit or belittle how much work it takes to run such a plot-heavy game, but it is sad because I rarely feel comfortable in a game like I do Elegante.
