Thank you, hon - and as I with your lovely interpretation. I liked both pieces, but have to say this one is just so much more evocative of the story. The addition of the city really makes it.
This is absolutely beautiful ♥ The show deals so rarely with the loss of all those scientists and soldiers, and I'm always glad when I see that they get picked up in a story.
Great work, honey.
(As a sidenote - I got your mail, but I'll wait with the reply until you've sent me the file back, if that is okay.)
Ps - psst, typo: He had been uncharacteristically quite
Thank you so much! I originally did this for my mini_nanowrimo project back in November, but updated it and revised it for the challenge. When you stop to think about it, Rodney has seen a lot of death in his department and that's something I don't think even Rodney could have anticipated. I love strong but emotional Rodney and I think he would have been quietly devastated at the thought of not paying attention to Teyla's warning and sending Graydon and Dickenson out like that. And that he turns his grief into comfort for John is also something he would do. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Oh, John. I love how you have him completely unable to deal with his own feelings, and how Rodney has to be the one to offer comfort in the end. Although I do suppose he gets some comfort of his own out of the closeness. *sighs happily*
Thank you, sweetie. I wrote this originally as part of my 'wrimo project last year, but revised it for this challenge - the premise being the same: the last barrier to intimacy and deeper feelings. John knows he can't deal, but I like to think he's thankful that he doesn't have to explain to Rodney, that Rodney knows what he needs. I think that would be true of Rodney too. Even as self-absorbed as he sometimes is, he could put his needs aside for John. I'm glad you enjoyed this, and N's art was such a complement to the story.
I think that you have totally nailed how John bottles up his emotions. I love how Rodney sees through him though :) Lovely story, just the right amount of angst for my taste. The story and the artwork are perfect for each other!
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I believe the angst had more to do with the premise of the story which was the last barrier to intimacy between them. Physical intimacy is easy, but "feelings" are hard to deal with. That's one reason I love these two together, I think John is thankful that he doesn't have to explain to Rodney and Rodney's okay with that.
berlinghoff79's art was fabulous and truly captured the heart of the story. Thanks again!
Thank you so much. ;) I actually had the wrong link for the art - it now takes you to berlinghoff79' post. It was awesome and I think really captured the heart of the story.
