O Captain, my Captain...

Robin Williams - an immensely talented man who could cause your sides to split from laughing one minute and move you to tears the next - may he finally find peace.

He will be sorely missed.

Shazbot :(

Oh, no. I am honestly crying right now. Can't believe he's really gone. :(

I was cooking dinner and my son asked if I'd heard. I honestly thought he was joking at first and then I was just numb. We talked about our favorite roles/characters - he said 'give me your top five' and I declared that was virtually impossible. The man was so incredibly talented. Unfortunately, he was also burdened with the dark side of that genius.

Yes, I was stunned and immensely saddened when I heard the news. Heartbreaking all around.

I didn't find out until after I'd come home from work. I was/am just numb. So sad - such a marvelous talent.

I thought President Obama's words beautifully captured what most of us are feeling right now:

Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny, a president, a professor, a bangarang Peter Pan, and everything in between. But he was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives as an alien - but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit. He made us laugh. He made us cry. He gave his immeasurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most - from our troops stationed abroad to the marginalized on our own streets. The Obama family offers our condolences to Robin’s family, his friends, and everyone who found their voice and their verse thanks to Robin Williams.

Christ on a crutch. This is the first I've heard of it.

Well shit. He was too young--he had lots more to say & do.
