pairing: John/Nancy
rating: NC-17
words: ~1,500
notes: This was supposed to be for sga_saturday except the prompt of "whisper" (to my dismay) wasn't their prompt. Once started, it begged to be finished.
Unbetaed, but thanks to my dear melagan for at least giving it a thumbs up.

" He's left with nothing but the swirl of empty air where she's been and the room waking around him with the sound of her in it."
An entire scene, full of feeling and vision and scope, all in one sentence.

Such inevitable heartbreak, is the end of a relationship.

I liked this, thank you for posting it.

Thank you!! I'm so glad you like it. It's funny where a simple prompt will take you sometimes. (and I say this, too, because I've been eyeing some of the John/Cam prompts... wow!)

I did like it, and *ducks for cover* I like Nancy too, there had to have been something there in the beginning in order for something to be lost.

Oooh! YAY! Does this mean we'll be getting a neevebrody John/Cam story that will melt our brains with it's deliciousness???

There are so many tempting prompts (which of course is the point) that I want to write something for all of them. Spare time is elusive *sighs*

Well... those prompts are mighty tempting. I'm not as familiar with Cam, though, and I'd want to do him justice. Actually, I've been talking of writing a John/Cam for a while now and I think the prompts are going to push me in some kind of direction.

What is this Spare Time of which you speak???

This is wonderful. Gorgeous story with imagery that fills the senses and this this is the John we see glimpses of in Outcast.

I understand how this story wouldn't let you go.

Thank you, m'dear. And thanks for your opinion.

Yes, it's amazing what a complex character Joe Flanigan gave us with so little to go on... I will always be grateful to him for the deep well that is John Sheppard.

Thank you, sweetie! I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was definitely something different for me, but sometimes, trying to get into John's head gets into my head... and won't go away.

This is one of the things that has shaped the John Sheppard we have come to know and love....

Knowing he has a mission that he hasn't told Nancy about... that's John's strength and weakness... his mistress is the Air Force and he's faithful to her and not the human woman he married...

Lovely!

Thanks, dear! That's quite an insight there... and he's faithful not to the one who loves him but the one who doesn't give a damn.

How heartbreaking and intense and so in character. Yes, there had to be something good and wonderful about Nancy -- and John -- to bring them together. So sad it seems those same things tore them apart.

Yes! That was sort of the genesis of this story... the something that brought them together and convinced John Sheppard to take such a leap.

Ooooo, very pretty icon!
