you know what's bugging me about this book (other than the content) is that it's getting SOOO much promotion because it's so hideous! It will probably sell like hotcakes and a real house will pick it up. EEE GADDS!
I know. I was really debating whether I should blog about it at all. I finally decided to because I think if it's not this book, it'll be another just like it, or along the same lines.
I wanted to put it out there to generate some discussion among my readers, who may not get this info as quickly as we do (as insiders in the biz), and who may just end up seeing a book like this on the shelves.
UGH! I just had to proofread a manuscript touting the values of Botox and then one about "softlifting" (breast implants), and I thought, well, I don't think cosmetic surgery is bad, but this idea that we HAVE to do it in order to be beautiful is just sick.
But to take it one step further and say that a woman looks bad because she became a mother? I have no words.
This book makes me sad. It is totally telling kids that their normal moms aren't beautiful and if anyone remembers being a kid-- all kids think their moms are beautiful! Why would they want to send the message to kids that mom needs all kinds of work to become beautiful? So sad.
