Getting it off my chest here before I lose my mind and start leaving sarcastic comments on people's otherwise well-written fic:

Come does not taste sweet. It really, really doesn't.

It is also neither hot nor scalding, but that nitpick has already been covered to death by other people. But I've never seen anyone complain about this. Do you all

Luckily, I've never read that in a fic. Really, any rhapsodizing about come would make me not want to read a fic. Too much like straight porn.

Me neither! I'm not basing this opinion on any extensive personal research, which I haven't done!

I read it all the time. Argh. If people absolutely have to describe how a thing tastes, you'd think they could do some research beforehand.

It can taste sweet. Not like a spoonful of honey, but it can have a mild vegetable sweetness. Arboreal, sort of. I often see it described as bitter, which is outside of my experience, but the taste can vary pretty wildly due to diet, so I imagine it's not out of the question.

Well, possibly "wildly" is an overstatement, but booze and veggie-intake and cigarettes can have an effect and, I dunno. People taste different, I think, the same way that they smell different, and you can tuck your nose up behind one person's ear and think "meh" or "YES, I'LL TAKE TWO, PLEASE," depending.

That said, there is the story where Rodney has the doughnut with the semen filling? Ew. Mainly as a texture thing, but also because semen!=jam.
