Oh gods, I haven't got past actually making lists of what I'm going to ask for and what I'm prepared to write. *clutches hair* My biggest decision so far has been to NOT put my hand up to write any of the fandoms I *want* stories in this year. My first two years, I got stories in the same fandom as I'd just spent the last month writing - though they were different enough that it didn't feel like more of the same, but last year I pinch hit a fic that ended up being pretty similar to the one I got, which kinda took a little bit of the 'wow' factor away, through no fault of the writer who'd gifted me, you know?
It just took me like five hours to make this post and fill out the details fields in the sign-up form. The whole requests/optional details thing is really stress-inducing for me, because I am super bad at talking about the things I love without sounding like a blathering idiot, and I don't want my author to look at my details and go /o\, but on the other hand, as an author, I love it when my requester gives me something detailed to work with.
I am actually requesting mostly the same fandoms that I'm also writing, but then I think I would actually love if I ended up getting a fic similar to the one I wrote. Writing a particular scenario just makes me obsessed with it and makes me want to read a million variations on it.
What are you going to ask for? Or did you already post about that and I missed it?
