Junkmail

Everyday I get plenty of junkmail, and always glance through to make sure that it's not someone that I know-don't even open them-just check the sender info and subject line.  This one pissed me off and I wonder if there is a place to report this pos?

the email:

get back to me

Unfortunately, no, probably not. This is a variation of what's called "The Nigerian Scam" (see http://www.snopes.com/crime/fraud/nigeria.asp for more info) and the only thing you can do delete it and move on.

Me? I never open a suspected spam email: many contain HTML code that notifies the sender that you opened it, thus confirming your address and making you a target for MORE spam. Just FYI.

Although, now that I read it a little closer, the local FBI office might be interested, as the email contains direct threats.

It's one thing to trick people using their own failings like greed or lust (or any of the other seven deadlies), it's another thing entirely to threaten them, that alone is a crime, and if there's any way this person can be found they need to be locked away (with no computer access) as soon as possible. I'm glad you reported it, this is going too far.

Extortion.
Very bad.
I would most certainly forward a copy to the proper authorities.
