❝ Yo. Kyon here. If you're here because of a certain someone, leave me out of it. But if you need to contact me, then here you go. I'll get back to you whenever I can. ❞

[OOC: just note in the heading the date, time, type of message, and what game it's for, whether it be sirens' pull or asgard.]

[ Since Caster never met Kyon personally, she couldn't tell whether she had the correct contact information, but then his recorded message confirmed it with 'Kyon here'. When she begins, relief makes her voice emerge warmly. It's almost cheerful, but the gentle, courteous pitch of her tone keeps her from sounding energetic. ]

Oh, good morning, Mr. Kyon. I am glad to see that I have the right number.

I am Caster, another one of the Greeters here. From your last entry to the network, you came here recently, right? In that case, I was wondering if you would be able to see me today at four. I have a gift for you. I believe you said that you wanted to know more about Siren's Port, so I would be glad to elaborate at the same time.

I'll be in Rose Park. It's only ten minutes away from the Tower Apartments. You'll recognize me as the one with blue hair. I will be waiting.

[ With that, she ends her voice message. ]

I'm sorry to hear that. Though, on one end, perhaps it is better that you are more prepared for anything that may happen. [ Yet, at the same time, she finds it a little amazing. There's the flicker of approvement flashing across her face. ]

[ She raises two fingers to accompany her next words: ] Two more things. [ She lowers her hand. ] And then I will have to take my leave. I still have to prepare Thanksgiving dinner, after all. [ She chuckles softly to herself. ]

Death here...is not always permanent.

... Wait a sec. What do you mean, "death isn't always permanent?" [And this is where things start to get bad.]

It means exactly as it sounds. Sometimes, when a person dies, they simply return to the baseball diamond. It can take half a day, two days, or even a week. Other times... [ She trails off for a moment, searching for a better way to ease him into the next segue. ]

You heard about the creatures of the Darkness, haven't you? Do you know how they originated?

[... He understands. He understands that completely. He's almost died on occasion, so he knows what she means.]

I've heard of them, but I haven't heard about where they came from.

This island was discovered back in 1909. The town of Missionworth, now known as Siren's Port, was founded a year later. The Core first started malfunctioning around 1918, until it resulted in the complete devastation of every single living organism in 1930. This is also when the Darkness began.

[ A brief pause to give him time to process this information. ] You've noticed how I said 'living organism' rather than human, right? That's because it eliminated not only the people but the plants and wildlife. The monsters of the Darkness are all those who were once alive back in 1930.

... So, you're basically saying that everything that was living at that time is the Darkness. [Yeah, this is not good.]

Not quite. They are the creatures trapped within it. You can almost consider them like restless spirits. You see, the Darkness is simply that -- a heavy darkness that settles across the entire city after sundown. It even hazes over the moonlight and stars, bringing with it decay.

[ She looks directly at his eyes, searching for understanding. ] Keep in mind that it doesn't just decay houses and material items. If you stand still...well, let's just say that's something you never want to do in the middle of the Darkness.

... Huh. [This is kind of interesting, but he doesn't understand complicated things too well!] So all I got to do is avoid the Darkness, right?

Right. Of course, living here, it is probably inevitable that you will walk through it at one point. If you can't find a place to hide... [ A brief pause, before: ] Do you have a pen on you?

It's in my bookbag, but I didn't bring it with me. ['Mostly because I didn't want it to be a hindrance, if anything.']

In that case, how good is your memory?

I'd say it's good enough.

All right. Then remember this number -- 51812940. [ She waited before continuing to see if she needed to repeat it. ]

[ ... ... Okay, he's going to take out his cellphone now.]

Could you repeat it?

51812940. [ She repeats each number slowly and articulately. ] Do you have it?
