So, what you're saying is that The Apartment, a singularly brilliant work by a cinematic genius, is only worth "That is also the way it crumbles, cookiewise" in your LJ? For shame.

And also, is paraphrasing that guy who spoke at Williams and said "What Will was saying--and I call him Will, because we' tight"--counting as a Shakespeare quote here? =D I know all your tricks!

Nope. Mr. White is a funny, funny man, but Shakespeare he is not. Keep searching. A hint: two are back-to-back.

As for the Apartment, this post was planned to be talking about books before I even got my laptop turned on, so Billy Wilder can consider himself lucky he got into this post at all. If he wants an actual post devoted to him, he's going to have to wait his turn like everybody else.

Umm...no. It was a black 30-something writer (a friend of Mr. Kelly's?) who did an assembly in the gym. Not sure what it was about--I think he was talking abould Lear at the time. And I remember Kate Milke making fun of underclassmen who weren't paying attention or something, so it wasn't senior year. Maybe junior. I don't know. But that's not what I was talking about. But yeah.
