So, I'm not really sure how much you want to know about the novel, as it currently stands. But I know how much I want to talk about it. A bit

I'm confused...does the entire story so far consist of a king dieing, an explanation of the kingdom's politics, a motley crew starting out on a quest to aid Elya in her desire to become King, and a one night stand? I'm sure either there's a lot more too it than that, or it has extremely detailed descriptions of the process of chosing the new King and the sex that is undergone.
Although death, sex, and politics are three very different but mostly universal subjects, so if those are the three focal points of the story, it makes sense.

There is no quest. No quest at all. There is a total absence of questing. Quest is... No with the quests. I cannot emphasize this enough.
There are charecters who are unmentioned, there are plot threads that will hopefully have something on the other end of them. There is travel, and some things that just happened to turn up about how Rab Faren may in fact have some sort of spy network that even I didn't know about.
And there is a lot of fat. God yes, there is a lot of fat. I don't even know where the fat is being stored, to be honest.

Well, you mentioned the girl being sent away, and then launched into a cast list, which implied that they were joining her as she Sought. I suppose I read things that were not there.
Don't worry about the fat though. Seriously; sex, death, and controversial politics are all you need.

Yeah. Basically, there are ten subkingdoms which isn't the word I'm using, and each one sends a Seeker of the Throne and a Champion to argue that their Seeker is the best man for the job. The only travel has been getting to the city, but that took almost two weeks. And weeks are nine days in this instance.
