Well that's something to fix right there! It's very easy to learn and surprisingly easy to get into contributing directly...

Well in theory I do 'know' it. But because of the 'orrible 'orrible way our software framework is setup, I spend too much time wrestling with that and not enough learning language basics.

No better way to learn than to get your feet wet coding :-) although I would completely understand if after spending all that time with ROOT you didn't want to see another line of code...
