I'm sure you've heard all this before, but trust me, the beginning is THE very worst part. I had a rough time my freshman year, so did all my roommates, heck, pretty much everyone will agree that the first months of the first year are the toughest. I mean, it's what you're doing is not easy to do for anyone. Your whole life has changed, you've moved to a new place, away from your parents, meeting new people, new school, etc. That's not easy, no matter which way you fold it. You just gotta stick it out.
Agh, I'm trying to express this in a way that makes sense, but... well, I'm really glad I didn't give up on it. I guess the reason I feel this way is I really did end up meeting people & learning to enjoy the lifestyle. Heck, at first, I'd call my parents every day & go back home every other weekend [even though I racked up a bunch of debt doing so. x_x;]. *hugs* it'll be ok. It helps to talk on the phone as often as possible. If you don't have a cellphone, I suggest to buy a phonecard and call home often. =) That's what I did in my freshman year. I moved about 300 miles away from home and was terribly homesick. Doing that and having my friend as my roommate helped a lot.
