I was a little disappointed watching 'This Is It'. Sure, it looked like it would have been a great concert, but...backing dancers and movies onscreen behind him and 3D, it's not world-shattering stuff, is it? Hell, the last Take That concert I went to had all that. From all the hype I was expecting more.
But I suppose, I had tickets to see Michael Jackson sing and dance - the rest was just icing on the cake. It's just a shame he was constantly holding back in the rehearsals with his singing and dancing, to save himself for the concerts. We'll never know just how amazing he might have been onstage in front of thousands of people again.
Admittedly, there was no elephant, but I think MJ performing was the main thing, rather than the effects etc. We did like the dancers popping out on "toaster" setting *g* and I also like the guitarist - can't remember her name.
Yes, if that was him "holding back" I wonder what the real show might have been like?
