Third K-On Popularity Election

With the anime series nearing its end, Akihabara decided to throw one more K-On character popularity ranking election. Mio destroyed in the first election, so much so that a second election was held just for her. But now with the full cast finally introduced into the series, we can finally have the first true contest with all the star players entering. & then some.

Unlike the first election, newer main characters Sawako & Azusa can now be voted for as well. Both characters became instantly popular upon their introductions, especially the recent premiere for Azu-nyan, who instantly won over fans with her loli/neko moe charms. Besides the two of them, there are some other interesting additions to this election. Nodoka & Ui are still there, but we also see the nameless clerks at the fast food restaurant being a candidate as well. WTF? Wait, it gets weirder. Besides regular Yui, you can also choose between Husky Voice Yui & Picture of Yui's Younger Sis (which is actually still of Yui herself) as well. Sawako also has a second spot in the rankings as well, with her final wild form also being a candidate. In total, somehow that gets us to 12 candidates. Here's the complete list:

The voting is actually already halfway over by this point, but who's actually winning depends on how you look at it. By looking at the 12 choices individually, Azusa is the one leading the pack. But if you add all three of the different Yui's together, Yui is actually the one in the lead. So if Yui hadn't been broken up into three separate choices, she'd be the one winning right now. But either way you look at it, it seems that Mio's unstoppable popularity has fallen a bit. It probably has to do with Yui's character becoming more explored & getting the most attention in the series (she is technically the main character after all). As for Azu-nyan, she's just cute as all hell. :3
