So Yu-Gi-Oh cards have been having legal troubles in America & Europe recently. First Konami tried to take over the trading card game in the US, which they originally gave the foreign rights to Upper Deck all those years ago. Konami releases the TCG in Japan, & are now trying to do so in other countries as well. The vice president of Konami wrote a letter to duelists saying that organized play for the game was "in a transitional period" & would be put on hold. Despite all this however, Upper Deck vowed to continue organized play for the fans so as to not abandon them. All this trouble eventually spread to Europe as well. But in the end, Upper Deck won a favorable ruling in both American & Europe courts, & will be able to continue releasing the card game. At least for the time being anyway.
& in a somewhat related matter, Yu-Gi-Oh cards were involved in another unrelated court case involving counterfeit cards being sold by Vintage Sports Cards. Funny stuff, actually.
