Funimation New Show Roundup
Now that 2008 is over, FUNimation has revealed all the titles for their New Show A Go Go licensing blitz. I listed the first few licenses last week, but it's time to go through the rest. Some were actually new, but most were more licensing rescue titles from Geneon and/or Gonzo. The remaining 10 titles (in addition to the aforementioned IkkiTousen, Gad Guard, & Vandread) were Nabari no Ou, Last Exile, Oh Edo Rocket, Count of Monte Cristo, Slayers Revolution (& Evolution-R), Gungrave, & Samurai Champloo.
When Samurai Champloo, the tenth & supposed last new title, was announced on New Years Eve, people were understandably confused & angry about the lack of supposed confirmed titles Soul Eater & Rebuild of Evangelion. Sure Champloo is a good series & a welcome rescue, but where were the two other ones? Well they were announced later on in the day actually, so all was well in the end! Now if Funi could just guarantee to get the ADV voice actors to all reprise their roles for the Eva movies then we're good. Oh, & it will be the revised 1.01 DVD version of the film as well, FIY.
