Death Note Rewrite 2 to Air in August
See? Told you there was still more Death Note to come. We showed the Death Note: Rewrite special not too long ago on NebsTV, which was a recap of the entire L saga with some newly added footage. Well now word has come out that a second Rewrite special titled "Rewrite 2: L's Successors" will air next month in Japan. This time the special will recap the second half of the story with Near & Mello facing off against Kira. L & Watari will also be on hand to quickly summarize the first half of the story for those unfamiliar with it.
No word on if this special will contain new scenes like the first special did or not. Rewrite 2 will also only be about 2 hours long with commercials, whereas the first special was 3 hours long with commercials. Not too surprising considered that in the anime adaptation the first saga is almost twice as long as the second, despite them being about equal length in the original manga story. But at any rate, look for the special to air on August 22.
