Anime DVDs Down 20%

ICv2 is reporting that anime DVD sales in America went down by more than 20% in 2007. Anime releases were also down for a second year in a row, falling an additional 21%, 2% more than it fell in 2006. They estimate that the North American anime market made about $275-300 million, compared to 2003 when it was estimated to be $550 million. Manga however continues to be on the rise

ICv2 also went over the top 10 anime & manga properties of 2007 for North America. For the third time in a row, Naruto was the #1 manga property. In terms of anime, DBZ was the #1 anime title for the second year in a row. The full lists can be seen below:
