& so, it ends. Rika Furude (Higurashi) beat out Nagi Sanzenin (Hayate the Combat Butler) with 1521 to 1499 votes. It was close the whole day, but Rika barely squeaked out a win with just a handful of votes. Not the person I was hoping would win, sadly. I voted for Nagi. Then again there were a lot of moe characters in this tournament that I feel deserved it more than the both of them. A lot of key players bowed out too quickly & deserved to win, but Nagi would've been good too.
What's really interesting to note is that once again international votes made a huge impact on this round. But
unlike the last time where it was a good thing that foreigners voted against the Japanese, this time it had the reverse effect. If the tournament were just based on Japanese votes than Nagi would have actually won by nearly 200 votes. But while international votes were small in number, the majority of them voted for Rika which gave her the slight lead & the winning spot of the tournament. Bah, oh well. There's always next year. =b It's been a blast, Saimoe!
