Voltron Gets Bigscreen Go
& yet another classic Toonami series is getting a live-adaption movie remake from Hollywood. This time around it's Voltron, courtesy of 20th Century Fox. Producer Mark Gordon has been trying to get this movie made for years, but now largely due to the success of the live-action Transformers movie, another 1980s giant robot series seems like it'll also draw big audiences at the box office. Justin Marks will be writing the script adaptation, who is also working on the previously announced live-action He-Man & Street Fighter movies. Here's some info on what the plot will be like:
"Marks' take is described as a post-apocalyptic tale set in New York City and Mexico. Five ragtag survivors of an alien attack band together and end up piloting the five lion-shaped robots that combine and form the massive sword-wielding Voltron that helps battle Earth's invaders."
