Cameron’s Battle Angel Delayed Again

Oct 28, 2010 22:51

It's been reported that 20th Century Fox has signed a deal with director James Cameron for his next project to be two sequels to his monstrous hit "Avatar." The two films will be shot & worked on together, with Avatar 2 coming out in December 2014 & the third film a year later in December 2015.

For anime & manga fans, this means that Cameron will indeed not be working on his long-talked about adaptation of "Battle Angel Alita." The most recent news up until now was that the plan was to do the film after Avatar 2, which never really made sense considering Cameron always intended Avatar to be a trilogy. But now with the new contract in place, we can say for sure it wont be his next work & we can't expect any real work to happen on it until at least 2016. Quite a long ways away for sure, assuming that it's going to happen at all.
