Crunchyroll Reveals Fall Simulcasts

Sep 20, 2010 22:41

Crunchyroll has announced their simulcast series for the Fall anime season. This is especially notable for two reasons. One because of how early they announced it (for the past several seasons they’ve literally waited as long as possible in letting the masses know what they’ll be streaming, usually the week or even day of). & two because the sheer number of titles they’ve got (CR’s number of new titles have been on the small side so far this year, though luckily other sites like FUNimation, Anime Network, & Viz have helped pick up the slack).

Seven new Fall titles have been announced so far, & it’s likely some more may be on the way. They are the second season of Tegami Bachi: Letter Bee, the World God Only Knows, Squid Girl, Sora no Otoshimono: Forte, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Fortune Arterial, and Super Robot Wars OG. It’s good to see highly anticipated series like Panty/Stocking & World God Only Knows, & of course sequel titles for Tegami Bachi & SoraOto were expected. Noticeably absent from their list though is the sequel season for Yumeiro Patissiere, which stars an older Ichigo. In all likelihood, Crunchyroll will be showing this, leading me to believe they might have a few more announcements left up their sleeves.

In addition to the new series, five currently-running anime on CR will continue with new episodes into the Fall season- Naruto Shippuden, Bleach, Fairy Tail, Kaasan: Mom’s Life, & Lilpri. Finally, Crunchyroll announced that they struck a deal with Kadokawa Pictures to add 13 new back catalog titles to the site, meaning older titles that may have never before been released in the US. No titles or dates were listed for those, but they’ll likely come out gradually over the next few months.
