Man, Sora no Otoshimono fans just can't win. First Kadokawa
removes the entire series from Crunchyroll, & now there's this news on the Japanese front. It was originally announced that the final DVD for the series would contain a bonus unaired episode, titled "Project Pink." As you might be able to guess by the sound of it, this bonus 14th episode was deemed "too dangerous" to broadcast on Japanese TV. In other words, extra extra fan-servicey.
Unfortunately the episode will no longer be on the final DVD. Instead it's been replaced by the SoraOto live concert "Seishun Hit Paradise" digest video featuring blue drops & Sohara & Nymph. The actual concert itself hasn't even taken place yet, as it scheduled for March 20. The final DVD itself wont be out until June 25. The disc will also contain the televised version of episode 13 as an extra, with the unedited DVD version as the main attraction. Not sure why anyone would care about the TV edited version, that it unless the two versions are so strikingly different from each other that it actually matters (like episode 6 of Gurren Lagann).
The bonus 14th episode hasn't been completely scrapped, though. The official website for the series says that it will announced for a future release. So while it seems like it will still happen, there's no telling exactly WHEN. There's also no explanation why it was removed from the final DVD in the first place, so we may never truly find out what's going on over there.
