Poetry: Yet Another Birthday Tanka

Jun 04, 2008 10:09

This one's for you, nateprentice, and your lovely wife:Ah! Alone at last,
Two forms make one silhouette,
Limned by candles' light.Remember to blow them out
Before wax drips on the cake.

Many happy returns(es) of the day(s)!

Of course, I can't eat cake. :(

Should be a nice day, though. I purposefully didn't schedule a lot of people, and for dinner tomorrow we are having the in-laws over for a quiet family party.

Tanka you. I'll forward the entry to Denise.

Is there a candle-bearing one-syllable food you can eat? I'm flexible on these little details.

Have a good time! (Your non-virtual present is delayed in the mail, of course. Argh!)

The only thing other people tell me that I can eat that is one syllable is sh*t.

Thanks for the present!

People put fireworks in those, not candles.
