I side against Putin because he's using Christian Fascism and homophobia to under pin his regime. Those are my 'tangentially related axes' to grind.

Putin "has some problems." To put it mildly.

Everything I've heard of late is that the Ukraine is a wasteland and the folks living there don't want to be there. Perhaps that is not the reality. I don't really know.

At any rate, political agendas will continue to grind their own axes. Perhaps a majority of regimes are too polite to enact the literal version of "off with their heads" but indeed that is really what is the unspoken underpinnings.

There are reasons why I cannot be a history teacher.

At any rate, indeed all of these gov'ts and anti-gov'ts these days are gangs of thugs, as you have so aptly put it.
