Primeval is good but it's going too fast.

Being Human UK started with a great episode, hope it continues to be awesome.

I am shocked that people who watch BH UK are saying such positive things about BH US, I watched the first episode with carpenyx and we had low expectations but were left completely unsatisfied. I wasn't going to watch another episode ( Read more... )

tv: fringe, tv: primeval, tv: being human, tv, tv: fairly legal

HOW ARE YOU NOT FLAILY FANGIRL OVER PETER AND OLIVIA. TOUCHING. HOTNESS. EYE-FRAKKING. COME ON NOW.

*shakes head*

I can't believe they're airing the US version of BH WHILE THE UK ONE IS STILL GOING. At least have the decency to wait until it's over to murder it!!

*grumbles*

OK OK, there was touching and holding and clinging and it was good and there was looking and it was nice and like I said I think I am 'almost' at that point.

It's all about making a buck I guess because it certainly isn't about bringing something that is already AWESOME to a new audience because no one who sees the US version will like the UK version. And syfy is trying to win a younger audience.

I'm actually surprised you've heard BH fangirls being positive about the US version. Everyone I know thinks the syfy version is complete rubbish. I've no desire to watch - I am too invested in the real version - I've heard some HORRIBLE reviews though. Makes sense to me though- how do you reproduce something that isn't broken without making it seem redundant and just plain wrong?

I'll cry if they try to remake Misfits... and then I'll join a protest march or something.

Every review I've read (critics not lj peeps) like it and say it's good, not as good as UK but still good.

In the BH UK comm, WAY more people said they were pleasantly surprised at how much they like it and only a handful hated it as much as I did.

I have to wonder if we were watching the same show or maybe they haven't watched the UK version as many times as I have and so they don't know it as well cuz I have watched it quite a few times.

carpenyx said she read that they would veer away from the UK version and tell their own story and I assumed that is why they changed the names but so far it is EXACTLY the same and I don't understand??????

Wasn't 3x01 fabulous? OMG I am so afraid though that it is going to break my fangirl heart into tiny pieces.

I really need to watch Misfits!!

3.01 was EPIC! I laughed and cried and wanted to do the hula. *g* I really liked Lia - which is weird but I really felt that the visits through the past NEEDED to happen. Though I can't help but be apprehensive about 'her/their' endgame - what with Lia pushing Annie on the 'shipping' front. (I tried to be as vague as possible so I don't spoil anyone on your flist)

As for Misfits. If you go to my post about Bethy's dancing I've posted the download links to all of Misfits season one and two in one of the comments. I'm on my iPhone right now or I'd just copy them here for ya. :)

Yes I think this season is going to be a tough one for Mitchell, he always struggles but he is also good at not dealing with it and now he really is facing the monster inside. Poor vampire needs a hug.

I am curious too what Lia's conversation with Annie was all about. Maybe she wants him to find happiness so then when her prediction happens he will suffer even more?

Cool! I will definitely check that out. Thanks!!

So the new BH is just exactly like the UK version only with different actors? Um...why did they even bother??? I don't get it.

I'd heard Trucco was on Fairly Legal. And Fringe...I miss Walter - I'm never gonna get caught up with tv. *sigh*

I thought they said they wouldn't be the same but so far they are so yeah, not work watching if you already love the original. I don't get it either.

Fairly Legal isn't perfect but it was enjoyable for now. I am really enjoying Fringe and Walter is a hoot. Never know what he is going to say.

How are you? We never get to chat anymore. Hope all is well with you and everyone. Loved your xmas letter! :)

I miss Fringe, the tv shedule here is all wonky and I never know when anything is on, so I'm pretty much not watching anything. I dl some stuff but never have time to watch it :(

Oh good, glad you got the letter. We are doing well, the kid loves school, the hub's job keeps him busy, And I'm here hanging at the house LOL.

Are you still on twitter? I never see you on there anymore...how are you doing?

Aww. I've been absorbing tv lately like it is the only thing keeping me alive. Ok that is a little dramatic. Haha, just having a hard time motivating and all this snow makes me want to hide in my apt and never go outside. It was pretty at first but now it's just a pain. I don't have 4WD so I can't drive down my own road because it's a hill and they don't plow. It's been snowing for hours and I haven't heard a single plow yet today.

I am glad things are going well. How long are you there for, do you know?

Um, yeah I don't think I have posted on Twitter in awhile. At least I am practicing antisocial equality. :)

just my personal opinion: BH US stinks. that aidan guy is totally ugly and i only made it about 1min into ep 01 when "aidan" starts quoting lord byron. i'm WAY glad the UK version is back on.
(i repeat- this is my PERSONAL opinion!)

I concur with your personal opinion and after 2 whole episodes it hasn't gotten any better so stick with the original and skip the crappy rip off. :)

i really, really want to be fair and give it another try, but i kinda have the feeling that i'd need to be very drunk to be able to enjoy it even remotely... and also i have a HUGE crush on aidan turner, so X)

I've been liking Fairly Legal so far and plan to give it a few more episodes. But yes, Sarah Shahi and Michael Trucco really are worth watching the worst tv show EVER (if were what's going on but I really don't think it is).

I have not been able to bring myself to watch either the US version of Being Human or the US version of Shameless. I've just avoided the Being Human stuff - the current UK version is enough of a compromise for me as I think the original Annie would have been way better than the one they have now.

The US version of Shameless.... well Emmy Rossum may be awesome (her work as a child was amazing but since she grew up I'm not so sure about the roles she's chosen) but she and whoever they found to play Steve will never - as in not ever NEVER - be able to match Anne-Marie Duff and James McAvoy (YES THAT JAMES MCAVOY).

Stupid US television.

Haha, yes they do make anything better and I will watch just for them. It is nice to see Sarah all pretty instead of in the drab cop clothes from Life too :)

Good! Don't waste your time, if you are a fan of the original then the new one would be painful (in my opinion, like I said tons of people DO like it). Ah see I watched the original original pilot after seeing a few episode with Lenora and so I was already attached to her and didn't like the 2 actors they had before her and Aidan. But I watched the original original pilot of True Blood first and liked the girl they had for Tara so I never warmed up to the actress who replaced her (and then I just gave up on the show entirely). I didn't know Shameless was a remake too. Wasn't planning to watch it though as I don't need family dysfunction on my tv as entertainment. Wow James McAvoy? Cool.

Yes, stupid US tv, why can't they be original? Oh that's right, they can be but then anything remotely different gets cancels and Law & Order gets a new city.
