"What do you mean you fought with Sho-chan?"
Jun rolled his eyes at Aiba's horrified expression. He explained once again that Sho called him something he didn't like and that escalated into a full-grown fight, together with name-calling and collar-grabbing. Jun knew it was downright childish, but he wasn't at fault and therefore did not need to apologize.
"But it's going to be Christmas soon," Aiba whined. "And I'm throwing a party. How will you cope?"
"I'll stay in your balcony for the entire duration of it," Jun said dryly but Aiba didn't get it.
--
"What did he say?"
That was a question Jun refused to answer, even more so because it was Nino who was asking. Jun shrugged and told him not to mind it. Nino was absorbed in his game, as usual but he managed to say, "Did he call you a coward with no sense of gratefulness?"
Jun halted in his place, and then covered his face with his hands. "God, Sho is such a girl."
--
"Make up with him, Matsujun."
For once, Jun felt like he had to make a stand. Everyone in the entire world can call him shallow but it's about time he got a backbone and stick to what he believes in--even if he's going against Sho, the one man who managed to bend Jun's principles and really, everything else.
"But he's the one who was wrong, Riida." Jun complained, not even caring if he was acting like a spoiled brat.
"But you two should make up," Ohno repeated anyway.
"Bake Sho-chan cookies!" Aiba yelled from the other room.
"Sho loves chocolate chip cookies," Arashi's leader confirmed in a loud whisper, though Jun did not know why he needed to whisper it. "But he hates nuts."
"Why are you telling me this?"
--
Five days. Five long days. This fight was a stupid one, and Jun almost forgot why he got angry in the first place but five days have passed and nothing--not even a rebuttal even more so an apology--from Sho. But Jun was patient. Sho would come around. Any day now. Any day.
--
"Does he mention me?"
The entire week, Jun and Sho played hide and seek of their own kind. Talking to someone else when the other is present; leaving the room with a flimsy excuse and generally avoiding each other. It was surprisingly easy because in front of the camera, they don't interact often and behind it used to be a different story but that was easily changed as well. That saddened Jun a bit.
Right now, the dressing room consisted of Nino and Aiba, playing cards and performing magic tricks at the same time. Jun launched the question casually, throwing back his head a bit and shoving his hands in his pockets. His audience looked like they didn't hear or even care. The youngest scowled at them and was about to whine when Nino looked up and met his gaze.
"He does."
Then he went back to his cards. Jun gritted his teeth. Nino will, always and might as well forever, irritate him to no end. He knew exactly how to do it. Of course he wanted to ask what Sho told them but Jun reined his curiosity. Patience.
Patience will let him win.

By the seventh day, it was almost a ritual for Jun to dial Sho's number and then hang up before it gets the chance to ring. He's called himself lots of names by now--pathetic, cowardly for example--and has experienced much remorse. But from Sho, he didn't hear anything. He didn't even know if Sho wanted to patch up. Didn't he feel the least bit sorry?
Bitterly, Jun slammed the phone back in its cradle and opted to drink some wine. He preferred something much stronger, but for now, wine will do. He opened the bottle and poured his fill. After his first sip, the doorbell rang.
Considering it was this time of night and was Christmas Eve, he had no idea who it could be. Probably Aiba drunk from his birthday party?
"Sho." was the only sound that came out of Jun's mouth. Although on his doorstep was Sho, a ribbon placed on his should like a sash and a bow attached to it with a pitiful, almost unreadable expression on his face. Behind him were Nino, Ohno and Aiba all with santa hats on their heads and singing Christmas carols.
"Jun-kun, here is Arashi's present for you!" Aiba declared, pushing Sho forward. Sho advanced one step, bringing him much closer to Jun. Nino giggled and Ohno smiled warmly and the three continued singing Christmas carols.
"I know that there's a lot that needs to be said," Sho began and Jun waited for him to continue. "But for now, I'm sorry."
Jun wanted to smack him, call him stupid and reprimand him for taking so so so long with his apology but before he could consider how to react to Sho's speech, the three santas started cheering.
"I haven't forgiven him yet!" Jun raised his voice above the noise. The celebratory noises promptly ended. And then Sho, Sho bit his lip and looked really irresistable and really, how can anyone expect Jun not to forgive him? "But now I do."
The cheering noises resumed. Sho grinned and Jun smiled guiltily back.
"Can I open my present now?" Jun whispered in Sho's ear.
"Most definitely." Sho replied and ushered Jun inside, leaving the three who continued to sing about people being naughty or nice.
