one. two. three.

Today was the fourth day. For the past four days, Jun kept getting visits from the strange man in white. He was there when Jun arrived for work, when Jun got home from work and when Jun wasn't at either of those places, he was still there. It freaked Jun out. This guy had some stalking abilities, that was what he thought.

Jun was the only one bothered by this. The stranger won the hearts of everyone else. Though he wasn't allowed to go past the front desk, everyone knew who he was and they have taken a liking for him. Especially the female employees.

"Why don't you just entertain him once?" Himiko coaxed, her bright red nails drumming against a file folder.

"It will only make him more persistent." Jun replied calmly.

"It's not like he's not persistent now," she sing-songed and Jun narrowed his eyes at her. "All I'm saying is just hear him out. You don't even know what he wants."

Jun frowned but return to his report at hand.

--

By the sixth day of the stranger's routine check-up on Jun, the latter finally agreed to talk to him. Jun gave him five minutes; the stranger requested for thirty. They went to a public playground; the stranger asked that they stay at someplace private. In the end, Jun determined the rules. Whatever this man wanted, it was important enough to let Jun decide on everything else.

"Don't you have any other color of clothes?" Jun asked as they walked from his office to the playground nearby. He was bothered; he's seen this man for six days now and he's always wearing white from head to toe.

"I like this color just fine," the man replied with a small smile. Jun would've thought that he'd be more eager. After all, he'd made him wait for six whole days. But instead, the man was the very picture of calm.

They reached the playground shortly after. It was empty, but Jun knew that people were nearby. In case this stranger turned out to be a psychotic murderer or something. He motioned that they sit on the bench and the stranger followed.

"So?" Jun finally asked when the man didn't say anything.

"I apologize. I haven't introduced myself. My name is Sho."

"Sho?" Jun echoed, expecting something more poetic like Michael or Giovanni or something. "So what did you want to talk about?"

"Like I told you before, I'm your guardian angel."

"You can't possibly expect me to believe that." it can be seen on Sho's face that he obviously did, though. Jun scoffed. "No, really. Who are you?"

"I'm Sho, your guardian angel."

Jun felt his anger rising up again and he willed himself to calm down. Lately, he's been having trouble keeping his emotions--specifically his rage--in check and he wondered what is it about this Sho guy that seemed to tick him off so badly. "Prove it then."

"I'm afraid I can't. You just have to believe."

Jun shut his eyes and counted to ten.

--

"Do you have a place to stay?" Jun was asking out of courtesy--because potentially weird psycho stalker or not, he still had his manners. Somehow, Jun managed to go through that "you just have to believe" business and get back to work. Though throughout the rest of the day, his concentration was way off and he was now headed back home.

"No, but I'm good, thank you." Sho chirped. In this light, it was almost as if he's just a normal sane guy, not someone spouting off guardian angel things.

"Well, I'll see you then," the engineer took out his car keys and opened the door, waving goodbye to Sho, who looked wistful, though he had a weak smile on. Jun took one look at him and he cursed himself for being so affected. "Will you be all right here?"

"Yes,"

"You sure?"

"Yes."

"Then why do you look so..." trying to illustrate with his hands, Jun searched for the elusive word. Sho looked on with mild interest. "...sad?"

A sad smile appeared on the self proclaimed angel's lips. "Do you believe me?"

"No."

At least Jun was honest.

"Then I'll just have to wait until you do." he looked at Jun in a familiar way, though couldn't identify exactly what it was. As he drove off, he realized what look it was that Sho gave him. Jun couldn't remember when someone looked so disappointed in him.

--

"If you're my guardian angel, don't you have special powers? Don't you have wings? Or an ability to pass through walls? Why do you have to wait on me for six long days, when you could have just barged in my place and forced me to acknowledge you?"

That was what Jun first asked Sho the next day. Maybe he'll finally admit that he was just an ordinary guy with weird hobbies. Instead, Sho looked at him and replied, "Then that would be an unfulfilling acknowledgment, right? I'd rather you would come to accept me on your own."

Jun felt slightly embarrassed but he knew he didn't have to. He looked down guiltily and when he glanced at Sho, the latter was smiling. At that moment, Jun knew he was different.
