This one was my favorite - it was just so damn painful and I loved the subtext in the conversation and then the interpretation at the end. That scene in the bedroom with Bones reaching out for Jim just broke me.

Most of the meaning in verbal communication isn't actually in the words used but in how the words are said and what the body is doing while saying them. Everyone is aware of this basic principle on a subconscious level. For Jim, it's an active part of his thought process. He learned early on in his childhood that words are just sounds that can't be trusted to tell the truth, only important because they give context to what the body is saying. Jim listens with his eyes.

This was beautiful hun.

Gorgeous look at Jim's way of thinking. The tragic fact that Jim views love and its consequences differently than Bones does, and not prepared to take that risk, obviously because he's seen the devastating effects that losing your loved one had on his own mother. Really love it...made me cry!
